Stranger Again
Denver, CO
06.2023 - 02.2024I am a stranger again. A familiar weight sits in the palm of my hand, cool and damp. My fingers close around it and I begin to work. Nothing is the same save for this repetitive motion, as vital to my growth as breathing. Garbage skitters in the alleyway and sirens wail across the park. I brought this pound of clay here to observe, to feel the sun on my neck and smell the cigarette smoke wafting down the street. A dog stops and sniffs my sneakers, our eyes meet, it continues on. I press my thumb into the clay. This is my method of discovery.
